Professor Tang Kun, the founder and chief scientist of the company, completed his Ph.D. at the National University of Singapore at the age of 26. He then conducted postdoctoral research at the prestigious Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany, renowned as a cradle of Nobel laureates. There, he studied under Professor Mark Stoneking, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and a foundational figure in the "Out of Africa" theory of human evolution. At the age of 29, Professor Tang was recruited by the Institute of Computational Biology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences as a young doctoral supervisor.
With over 20 years of research experience in the field of computational biology, his research areas cover computational pharmacogenomics, computational population genomics, whole-genome natural selection signal research, genetic models of complex traits, AI models for human facial traits, and prediction models for health indicators based on complex facial phenotypes (such as age, personality traits, and health indicators), among others.
